In March 2023, I was working in Iraq for my university. Suddenly, some men took me by force. They were from a dangerous group. They kept me in a secret prison for more than nine hundred days. At first, they did not know who I was. They thought I was a spy because I was a foreigner. But they were very stupid. They did not know how to ask questions. They tried to scare me like in movies, but it did not work. For example, one man blew smoke in my face, but it smelled like sweet fruit. Later, they found out I was Israeli. Then, they started to hurt me to make me talk. I realized that humor can help in bad times. When we laugh at bad people, we feel less afraid.
