Images released by police showed bodies strewn across a street covered with debris, beside the charred remains of a destroyed bus. The regional prosecutor's office announced that local public transport had been suspended. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Kremlin had deliberately targeted an ordinary transport stop, warning that the death toll could sadly rise.
